We have such a fantastic time when we come to Chestnuts. It’s the only time we get to be together as a family and have the space and time to enjoy just being a family is priceless.
My son, Sam is 16 years old and has profound disabilities. He has an undiagnosed progressive illness and requires lots of care and support. The Staff at Chestnuts take all the pressure off us by tending to Sam’s every need, which in turn, enables us to enjoy each other’s company, relax and have some fun. My younger son Henry (aged 2) loves coming to chestnuts with his big brother. We can take both boys swimming together, something that we could not ordinarily do.
If Sam is having a rough time with his seizures, I can take him to the Sensory room and chill out with him on the water bed, whilst Henry can play and have some fun with the Staff. Henry has to be quiet at home when Sam has a lot of seizures, which is very hard for a 2 year old to do! All the Staff at Chestnuts are so kind, caring and understanding and we are all made to feel so welcome. We have just spent a wonderful Christmas at Chestnuts and it was the most wonderful Christmas we have ever had.
Chestnuts has enriched our lives so much. It has made everyday life more bearable as we now have our ‘Chestnut Holiday’ to look forward to.
Thank you to everyone at Chestnut tree House.
