Link Romania

Link Romania exists to rebuild lives and communities in Eastern Europe, striving to help the poorest and most marginalised people through education and social care, helping them to overcome poverty and develop a better life for themselves and those they support.

Link Romania has started a community service providing nutritious meals in the village of Dancu in Moldova where most people live below the poverty line and is helping to build a youth and community centre in the village to be used by the lonely elderly, provide classroom space for children with special needs, vocational training for the young, social care and job creation. Each year, Link Romania also organises a shoe-box collection; since 1992 the charity has sent 450,000 shoe-boxes to over 80 different locations which are given to people who often have to make a choice between buying fuel or food at Christmas; buying presents is not just a priority.

MJH Executive Homes offers practical help and Mike Hartnett is involved in a number of projects including an incredible sponsored 240 mile bike ride across Moldova in 2011.
